Stochastic sources localization algorithm based on near-field measurement results

In this work we propose a stochastic EMI sources localization algorithm based on two-point time-domain planar near-field scanning in the near field region of the radiation structure. As a model of a radiating structure the set of uncorrelated point sources is considered. The Huygens–Fresnel principle is applied for the reconstruction of the electromagnetic field distribution in the object plane. The model order estimation criterion is based on the determination of the significant singular values of the correlation matrices formed for specific space and frequency cross-sections. The improvement of the sources resolution in space and frequency domains and parameters estimation of the point sources model were achieved by the application of the chosen parametric spectral estimation methods. Some examples of point sources frequency and spatial localization are presented based on the modeling and measurement results.
