Strobe identification of the signals with radio emission sources in multi-target environment

The expected high saturation of war zones radio emission sources (RES) of different function creates complicated (multi-target) electronic environment and predetermines for systems of radioelectronic intelligence (ELINT) basic necessity of the decision of following problems: – identifications RES on types, copies and tactical purposes; – tracking detected RES on all significant information parameters: to carrier frequency, pulse time, pulse duration, spectrum width, location, etc. The urgency of the decision of these problems is caused, in particular, by necessity of an threat’s estimation with ranging RES on relevance degree. Success of the decision of these problems in multi-target environment in many respects depends on ELINT’s ability to identify the received signals with concrete copies RES. It predetermines potential possibilities of their authentic tracking. Special complexity The problem of single-type RES identification not resolved on signal parameters is especially complicate. The purpose of the present work is development of simple and effective mathematical apparatus for signal’s identification. The method of an identification of the received signals with concrete detected (tracked) copies RES in the multi-target environment, based on use of multidimensional strobes (confidence intervals) on measured phase co-ordinates is offered. As a result of work performance: 1) the settlement mathematical formulas necessary for definition of the identification strobe sizes depending on set probability of hit of results of measurement of parameters of signals in limits of a strobe are offered; 2) the decision rule for signal identification is resulted. The offered method is universal, simple in technical realization and does not show high requirements to computing resources. The literature list contains 7 names.
