The random coding method

The problems how to protect confidential information from leakage over side channels in the process of its processing in special safety zones by using of random coding method (coded noise masking). The method consists of a random vector (artificial noise) generating, which is transmitted over a communication channel with encoded by this vector information. On the channel’s output information is decoded using the symbols that are distorted by the channel’s disturbance, what leads to increasing of the channel’s disturbance impact on the transmitted information when removing the artificial noise. This method allows to use redundant coding information with the imposition of artificial noise, which is generated on the transmission and received on reception in a distorted way, to achieve considerable reduction of side-channel bandwidth.This paper gives an overview of the random coding methods and estimates the efficiency of their application.
