Propagation of broadband optical radiation in bent spun fiber with high birefringence

Evolution of optical radiation polarization state during its distribution in bent spun-fiber with high birefringence is studied. The theoretical model describing a monochromatic radiation state of polarization in spun-fiber and an wavelength average state of polarization of broadband radiation is developed. It is shown that magnetosensitivity of fiber decreases with decrease of bending radius. The way of preservation of high extent of polarization of optical radiation during its distribution in bent spun-fiber is offered, that does it possible to create small sensitive elements for electric current measurement.
