Development of an expert system for assessing the actions of users in virtual worlds and simulator systems

One of the approaches in training engineers for the development of their applied competencies is the use of virtual simulators and worlds. Training a specialist on real equipment is often economically inefficient, involves risks to health, and sometimes simply is not possible. The successes of computer technologies intensified the rapid development of virtual systems, allowed the development of entire virtual laboratories. However, the task of assessing the actions of trainees in such systems is currently not fully resolved.
To solve the task of forming recommendations, it is proposed to use the production expert system.
The simulator is presented as a set of input and output controllers. Each input controller (sensor) has several events to process. When an event occurs on the sensor, the internal state of the simulator changes. The virtual world is a set of objects with which the trainee can interact.
The recommendations are given, it is a text prompt that helps to achieve a given goal with fewer steps. Classification of recommen-dations is made: recommendations in the absence of achievability of any goals, recommendations for achieving a certain goal, rec-ommendations in the presence of potential targets.
The action analysis system removes the readings of the virtual workplace after each action of the trainee. Indications include: an in-teraction object, a controller in the simulator, or a virtual object; Type of interaction; A set of states of objects, into which the system has passed.
Consider several rules for forming recommendations: «You can not solder without a soldering iron.If you want to solder a part, take a soldering iron in your hand», «You can set the voltage using the input of a new value instead of a bit-wise change, this will save 2 steps» and others.
At the initial stage, the knowledge acquisition process is carried out by interviewing domain experts and manually converting knowledge into a set of generative rules.
