The possibilities precordial electrical impedance methodsin the evaluation of local contractility of the heart chambers

Electrical impedance techniques of the heart measurements allow estimate the volume characteristics and myocardial contractility in monitor mode. Precordial methods of electrical impedance studies allow assessing ventricular walls local movements and determine the heart phase structure parameters. Two methods of precordial heart investigation are considered in the work: trans-ventricular and radial. The thoracic channel using allows to monitor the soft tissues blood filling to obtain precorordial signals, the main contribution to which is the blood movement in the heart chambers. As a result of the study we defined specific changes in atrial, trans-ventricular and radial ventricular electro impedance channels which characterizing the beginning of mechanical atrial contraction and the beginning and end of mechanical ventricles contraction. The paper presents distinctive graphs. It is revealed that the calculated values of the activity phase structure parameters can be useful additional information for diagnosing the patient and controlling his state of health.
