«Internet browsing» users profile categorization: a multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) using their subjective requirements to the service

In this paper, we find the profiles of users of the «Internet browsing» service, using their subjective requirements obtained through a survey.
We use Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) as data processing method. Analysis of the distribution of data considered parameters with a degree of freedom equal to 12 (4 categories of the use of service – regularity, quality, sociality and security, and 3 subcategories that quantified them – low, medium and high). The data was grouped by a gradual projection of points in the new low-dimensional Euclidean space, obtained after applying the MCA algorithm to the corresponding cross-tabulation data. Thus, we obtain three main profile groups that represents the categories of users of the «Internet browsing» service and will allow a more effective assessment of the quality of the provided service from the final point of view or the users (QoE), considering both subjective and objective components of quality.
This proposed approach may be used by telecommunication operators to implement the user's categorization, and is not tied with a particular service nor the number of clients used in the analysis.
