The methodology of processing geodata in mobile devices

Geoinformation systems (GIS) are now widely used in various spheres of production and services. In the field of maintenance and repair (MRO) these systems allow to accurately track the movement of field employees and coordinate their actions by use of portable solutions on mobile devices. The challenges of collecting, processing, filtering, storing and visualizing geodata is not trivial due to the heterogeneity of the geodata sources and the low location accuracy in certain cases. In the paper we propose a technique for filtering the geolocation data stream in mobile devices, which includes:
the model of input and output data that allows the use of different geolocation sources;
the processing model consisting of a preprocessing block where information is typed and unified, a filtering block that is a cascade of 6 filters: accuracy filter, network coordinates filter, time filter, speed filter, acceleration filter, stands filter. The calculated ratios for the filters were determined based on the results of statistical analysis of tracks collected from various mobile devices.
The technique allows to aggregate heterogeneous sources of geolocation data on mobile devices, to identify and exclude significant geocoordinate deviations from the real location when navigating inside buildings. The methodology uses 14 static parameters, one common parameter and three computed in the process.
Promising areas of further research are: the completion of the proposed methodology for implementation on a specific mobile operating system, the development of a method for selecting filter parameters and a methodology for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the resulting track after filtering in comparison with the user's real route.
