Analysis and distinctive features of color models used in modern graphics editors

The article provides an analysis of color models (CM) used in modern two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphic editors, both raster and vector. Their classification is given, basic models are defined. For each model, distinctive features are noted, such as color space, color gamut, scope, the most appropriate methods of use; describes the advantages and disadvantages of the models.
The value of color in the development of high-quality realistic images is difficult to overestimate. Therefore, image processing requires constant consideration of the nuances of color reproduction and color perception, which have physical (color characteristics), technical (information display options) and psychological (conceptual perception, associative thinking, features of the human visual system) aspects considered in the article.
High-quality formation and processing of images in modern graphic editors is impossible without working with color, applying the ap-propriate color mode and using an effective color palette. Color as a certain category, the image characteristic is very many-sided. Both the issues of reproduction and color perception have a number of specific nuances that can be taken into account with the help of color models - abstract models describing the representation of colors.
This article discusses various types of color models as models. color formation in the formation of images. Their classification is given, basic models are defined. The main components with the help of which the color space is set are considered, the parameters and characteristics are analyzed. Taking into account the advantages and disadvantages of models, there are areas of their practical use. The models considered are far from a full range of service tools used in raster and vector editors to create a colorful color spectrum, to create high-quality, reproducible and effectively perceptible images. But even this analysis allows us to confidently state that there are no ideal color models and this or that model may be the most convenient in various situations.
